PERSONAL BRANDING

What is personal brand?

"A personal brand is a widely-recognized and largely-uniform perception or impression of an individual based on their experience, expertise, competencies, actions and/or achievements within a community, industry, or the marketplace at large." (Personalbrand.com, 2021)

There are lots of similar answers to these questions but this is one of my favorites. “largely-uniform perception” is the keyword. What is the perception people have about me, deduced by what I pursue, believe, post, and share on social media. How are you good to sell yourself in the digital world?

How can we start doing our personal branding?

Generally, blogs and social media, are the most used channels to promote yourself in a digital world. First of all, before opening a blog, decide what you wanna speak about and some other technical aspects. Hubspot can help you in this case, check out this article. https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/how-to-set-up-blog

Driving a social media personal branding strategy required constant and credibility. Try to resume it with most important steps for your successful social media strategy.

1.      1. Set up your social channels:

-         take your photo, clear professional and easy to see.

-         Write your bio including professional and interesting things about yourself.

Idi   2. Identify your area of enterprise:

-         Everyone is an expert in something, create content connected to your area of enterprise.

-         Do experiments, and create similar contents which have performed better.

-         Regularly share contents.

3.      3. Keep social posts positive and engaging

-         Create interaction with your audience, posts different type of content

-         Be sure that your posts reflects you

-         Don’t be afraid about talk what you know and personal achievements

4.      4. Different social media platforms=different rules

There is a reason why there are different social media and everyone made successful

-         People appreciate a social media rather than another because they appreciate a specific type of content, so when you post something  respect that! For example on Twitter, fewer photos and short text.

-         Want to grow on personal media? Every social media has different rules and algorithm logic to understand. Example: Instagram? Reels and carousel

5.      5. Create a social media plan and strategy

-         “A social media marketing plan is an overview of your marketing goals and the actions you intend to follow to successfully achieve those goals. Social media plans act as a guide to keep your business on track, and you’ll see more results as you develop a more detailed plan of action.”

-         Remember that a dream without a strategy is just a dream. For example, maybe is better to start creating content for an audience niche who will be more interested in you, and then expand in automatically to more people.

COMPANY BRANDING STRATEGY VS PERSONAL BRANDING

Personal branding is different to corporate branding. In corporate branding, the business or product are the main focal point, in personal branding the person or topic is the main focal point

For example a company strategy could be focused more on transfer its personal value, like environmental themes and saving planet.
